T.O.C. has a blog now. She's old, but not out of it, I give her props for that. The strange thing is, she's only a duchess but she says she outranks me. Strange.
Anyway, if you like, you can go welcome her - she is a RevPetBlogPal, even if she is rude to me.

Friday Five: Thankfulness
Mary Beth who is one of the RevGals like Giver of Greenies posted this Friday Five:
Giver of Greenies is a little stressed today. Something about 'keys' and 'cup of stupid' which I don't get, but she said I could play today.
This one is going to be veeeery simple: List at least five things (people, places, graces, miracles...) for which you are thankful. You may elaborate as you wish, or keep it simple.
So, here's Tiria's Thankfulness List:
- Greenies (duh. you expected???)
- Toys like bird-on-a-stick and strings.
- Sunny spots and fleece-y beds.
- Not staying in the Pound but finding my forever family. I mean, I am glad someone got me out of the cold when I was lost. But I was miserable in the Pound. It was loud. Smelly. Noisy.
- Cat TV out the back window. One of these days, the door will be open and I will find me something tasty.

Tag, I'm it. You could be too!
Amie the Cattle Dog gave me a quiz. Even though she is a d-o-g she looks very nice and happy. So I told her I would play...1. What advice would you give a young kitten who seeks to be as successful a cat as you are?
You have to train your humans early. Show them how you will reward them with purrs and loves if you get the kind of treats, sleeping places and otherwise appropriate attention that you want and deserve. Don't ever bite or scratch unless it is a human who should know better. Kitten humans just don't understand the idea of 'gentle' or 'don't pull' so it is best to just go limp and slip out of their hands. A pitiful yowl will also help you be rescued. Half-grown kitten humans (the kind that try to dress you or put silly hats on your head) should get a gentle swat and then one with heat in it. Grown-ups sometimes like to play, so you let them do it until it hurts and then you give them a "bat-bat-tiny claw" so that they figure out you don't think it's fun. When all else fails, hide under the bed. And don't come out until you hear the Greenies bag rattle.
2. How can peaceful coexistence between cats and dogs be maintained?
I have never lived with one. They walk by our door and the smell of them scares me. Amie seems very nice, and so do Dogblogger and Molly. I think I like them because I can't smell them. I think the key is that if dogs and cats are co-habitants, that you let them get used to each other slowly.
3. What is your humans' most endearing trait?
They know how to give a girl Greenies and most amazing scritches. Sometimes both at the same time!!!
4. Even the most advanced beings have room for self-improvement. What do you hope to accomplish in the next year?
There is this yummy looking stripey chipmunk... some day I will catch it and it will be MINE MINE MINE!!!!
5. What would you like to tell humans who seek the secret of contentment?
Three things:
- purr loudly and often
- wash behind your ears
- a nap in a cozy spot brings your mood back up to sunny
RevGalDogPals or CatPals (or humans, for that matter), would you like to be interviewed by me, Tiria the Shadow Princess? Here are the rules:
1. If you are interested in being interviewed, leave a comment here or on my human's blog saying, 'interview me.'
2. I will respond by posting five questions for you. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with a post with your answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
Gotta run... it's time for my facial...

Friday Five: Stress-Busting Edition
Giver of Greenies did this, so I am too...
Sally from Revgals wrote:1. First, and before we start busting stress, what causes you the most stress, is it big things or the small stuff ?
I am off to spend a few days at the beach chilling out after a hectic few weeks and before I head off for Summer School...
So with that in mind this weeks questions are looking at how you deal with the stress monster!!!???
... rrroowwwoooooooo!!! uitcases-say... trips to the "Shop of Horrors" (aka the "et-vay") and most of all, my staff leaving me alone! Strangers in my house make me anxious too...
.....rrrrrrrrrrooooooooooo??
2. Exercise or chocolate for stress busting ( or maybe something else) ?
Greenies. Naps. Greenies. Snoozing. Greenies. Scritches. Greenies.
3.What is your favourite music to chill out to?
Giver of Greenies plays things on the bright screen and I like just about anything she plays. It means that she is around for proper scritches.
4. Where do you go to chill?
Under the bed. No one can get me there.
5. Extrovert or introvert, do you relax at a party, or do you prefer a solitary walk?
I am not big on strangers. But I like my peeps. You figure it out.
Bonus- share your favourite stress busting tip!
See #2. I really can't improve on that.

Friday Five: Hasty Edition
RevGalBlogPets like to play the Friday Five, too!
ReverendMother says:
Whoops! I have been in a family-induced haze these few days, with the July 4 holiday and taking time off while relatives are visiting. So I literally lost track of what day it was!
So rather than make you guys wait even one minute longer for the five, I'll dig up an oldie:
Today, what are you:
1. Wearing
A simple grey and dark pointed ensemble with my lovely white mitts. I just had them cleaned.
2. Reading
Um. I don't read much. Books are for sleeping on, right?
3. Eating
Dry stuff. And Greenies for a good kitty.
4. Doing
Supervising the staff. Watching the nest for Baby Eats. Giver of Greenies says I have to stop sitting by the window near the nest because "a watched pot never boils." I don't know what that means, but she is very smart, so I will believe her.
5. Pondering
Should I nap now or later? Hmmmmmmmmm.... How about both?

5 things I dig about Jesus
Molly played and so did Rosie and Jenny. So I thought I would too...
Five things I dig about Jesus.
- He made animals. Especially cats. I guess He made dogs too, but He was only practicing.
- He made sunshine. I love sunshine.
- He made humans. It would be hard to be loved without them.
- He made things like catnip and fleecies.
- He likes it when I sing happy songs to Him for the things He has made.

Friday Five: PoTAYto, PoTAHto
I just read Giver of Greenies Friday Five and I have to play. After all, I AM a cat, and I DO have opinions!
There are two types of people in the world, morning people and night owls. Or Red Sox fans and Yankees fans. Or boxers and briefs. Or people who divide the world into two types of people and those who don't. Let your preferences be known here. And if you're feeling verbose, defend your choices!
1. Mac? (woo-hoo!) or PC? (boo!) Why yes, the Friday Five author reserves the right to editorialize!
Doesn't matter as long as it has a mousey.
2. Pizza: Chicago style luscious hearty goodness, or New York floppy and flaccid?
Doesn't matter as long as they have cheese.
3. Brownies/fudge containing nuts:
a) Good. I like the variation in texture.
b) An abomination unto the Lord. The nuts take up valuable chocolate space.
[or a response of your choosing]
What are brownies?
4. Do you hang your toilet paper so that the "tail" hangs flush with the wall, or over the top of the roll like normal people do?
It MUST be hung over the top. It is the only way to play with it properly. I can reach up with my claws and stretch, and pull down some to shred. I like to do this in the downstairs bath so that T.O.C. gets in trouble. he he...
5. Toothpaste: Do you squeeze the tube wantonly in the middle, or squeeze from the bottom and flatten as you go just like the tube instructs?
I don't need toothpaste. I have greenies!
Bonus: Share your favorite either/or.
Scritches or combing?
Ooooohhh... prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... both.
Fleece or flannel?
.....both
Dogs or cats?
Surely you jest! CATS!

Joy
Songbird says:
Tell us about five people, places, or things that have brought surprising, healing joy into your life.
- Greenies -- I know I blog about them a lot but they just make a kitty purrrrrrrr and do tricks. And feel loves.
- Bearded Scritcher -- He didn't mean to drop his shoe on me. And when I acted really scared he fed me Greenies... And his fleece shirt is so warm...
- Giver of Greenies -- She always hides the bag. I know where. But I have not figured out how to get the drawer open (yet!) I like to keep her computer chair warm.
- String Puller and String Plucker -- Assistants in the Greenie giver and scritching department. They are apprentices and aren't doing too badly.
- My Foster Mom -- I don't remember her name. Nice people found me in the snow and took me to her house. She let me hide under the dresser for weeks. She still gave me food and a wuzzly blanket. She let me sit on her couch (but not on the kitchen counter -- why?) But I was a stranger and she took me in... and she helped me find my forever family.

Streams in the Desert
Songbird says For this Friday Five, name five practices, activities, people or _____ (feel free to fill in something I may be forgetting) that for you are rivers in the desert.
I am actually not much for water. Or streams. Or rivers. They messes with my fur, they does. But I do have things that make me a happy cat.
1. Proper scritches. From my head down to my tail and back. Lightly, please. I am a lady.
2. Polar fleece. Especially someone's jacket. Forbidden fleece is always softest.
3. A full bird feeder. Bearded Scritcher is a good human. He keeps the view delectably interesting.
4. Love. Love. Love. I was lost and left out in the cold. Nice people brought me in and welcomed me, even when I wouldn't let them touch me for weeks. Must be love. Can't get enough of it.
5. GREENIES! but the Giver of Greenies never ever gives a good cat enough of them.
Time for a proper wash. I have my reputation to uphold...
