A Veryvery Late Friday Five

Singing Owl from Revgals writes:

Yesterday I had two separate conversations in which people were musing about how much change is occurring. The WW II generation, of which my mom is a part, went from horse and buggy to automobiles, saw the lessening, or even the end of many diseases, went from widespread use of kerosene lamps and outhouses (in the country, and most folks were rural)) to a totally electrified and plumbed society. The fastest means of communication was a telegraph. The second conversation--gulp--was about MY generation and how much change occurred in the last half of the 20th century. The person said his 13 year old had not seen a vinyl record album until a few days before, couldn't remember a time without cell phones, and on and on.
As for the questions!

1. What modern convenience/invention could you absolutely, positively not live
without? GoG's skooshy bed. It has water in it or something. But you can't see the water, or feel it. But I don't care, cuz it's a grrrrrrrrrreat place to sleep.

2. What modern convenience/invention do you wish had never seen the light of day?
Why? The Electric Dust Suckers. They are eeeeeeevil... they chase me all over the house...

3. Do you own a music-playing device older than a CD player? More than one? If
so, do you use it (them)?
No... I'm a cat... I just listen to the Talky Box or GoG's laptop. (the picture is the Talky Box)

4. Do you find the rapid change in our world exciting, scary, a mix...or
something else?
I dunno... A mix I guess. I don't follow the changes of the big world. I just concentrate on my kingdom in my house.

5. What did our forebears have that we have lost and you'd like to regain? Bonus points if you have a suggestion of how to begin that process.
LEAVING KITTEHS ALONE WHEN THEY DON'T WANT TO BE TOUCHED!! NO matter how many times I tell GoG to let me down, she just won't leave a poor kitteh alone...

Cats and heaven

I don't 'zackly like it, but sometimes GoG comes and hugs me. I usually escape and hide under the bed.

Tonight she picked me up and wet me with her face. Her face but not her tongue. Strange. What's up with THAT???

ANYWAY...
She said something about Cub and og-day heaven. I guess it must be my RevPetBlogPal, Cub, cuz he's been sick and had to go to the et-vay a lot recently.

Now I am not big on barking, scary, hairy things (also known as "og-days") but I do know that some people have og-days AND cats, so I guess I have to admit there are nice og-days out there somewhere. And I think Cub was one of them.

So to his thumb-havers, as he calls them, I send purrs and the teeniest little tail twitch farewell. And I think that we'll meet him again where there's fields of catnip and greenie bones. Though GoG insists there will be chocolate and strawberries...

Is it legal?

I just wondered...

GoG has been putting out green stuff that isn't greenies for me. It's like dirt but it's not dirt. She calls it "kitty crack" and it is WONDERMOUS!

But T.O.C. sez that it is her medicine and it is ill-eagle to eat someone else's medicine. She sez its fur her heart. She sez if I eat it any more she will Cat Nip me.

I'm kinda liking this green stuff. Is it legal? Should I risk the Cat Nip?

Kinda mellow....
