It's a Winter Friday Five

I am so sorry for the lateness of the Friday Five. I've had two emergencies this a.m. and now my computer keeps crashing. I hope I can get this posted!

The picture is out a window at my place, complete with screen. ;-)

Brrrr! Baby, it’s COLD outside! At least that is the case where I am this morning. We are in a January deep freeze. Have a cup of hot tea and tackle five easy seasonal questions.

1. What is the thermometer reading at your house this morning?
20's F. Brrrrrrrrrr...

2. Snow—love it or hate it?
Hate it! Hate it, hate it, HATE IT!!! It's so cold and WET!!

3. What is winter like where you are?
Coldcoldcoldcold!!!!!Veeeeeeeeeeeeery cold!

4. Do you like winter sports? Any good stories?
Napping. One nap is much like the other.

5. What is your favorite season, and why?
Summer. It's so warm and sunny and all of the fuzzy eats are fat and running around.

Bonus: Share a favorite winter pick-me-up. A recipe, an activity, or whatever.
Naps. Great for energy. Can be done anywhere, at any time. Perfect winter pass time.

Friday Five: Read Any Good Books Lately?

The website promoting this piece of art says, "For the first time, the worlds most influential religious texts are brought together and presented on the same level, their coexistence acknowledged and celebrated”. The shelf is made of reclaimed wood that contains seven religious books. The designers have put them – literally – on the same level.

Well, pish posh! I think that some books ARE better than others! How about you?

  1. What book have you read in the last six months that has really stayed with you? Why?

  2. I read the back of the Greenie bag. It made me realize that I might get more Greenies if I behave better, so I have been working politely towards my 15 Greenie goal.

  3. What is one of your favorite childhood books?

  4. I didn't like to read.

  5. Do you have a favorite book of the Bible? Do tell!

  6. Rrrrrrruuuuuuuuth.

  7. What is one book you could read again and again?

  8. The Greenie bag. I also like to read over GoG's shoulder.

  9. Is there a book you would suggest for Lenten reading? What is it and why?

Lenten reading? I don't know.

And because we all love bonus questions, if you were going to publish a book what would it be? Who would you want to write the jacket cover blurb expounding on your talent?

I would publish a book titled "Everything Catly." GoG should write the blurb, and maybe T.O.C. if she likes it. And I should get the Greenie company President to do it, too.

What My Name Means...

GoG said "well, this fits." I'm not so sure...

What Tiria Means

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend like fairly random locations.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

No likey.

The feeding station downstairs is missing a dish of kibble. GoG just took away mine.

WHY??? WHY??? WHY???

This is not good. T.O.C. just came upstairs to see if I took hers. I told her I didn't and that GoG just hid mine. We yelled at each other about it. Well. I mean... SHE let off some steam (if ya dig) and I just uh... "talked" about it.

Then GoG made her go away.

But we are still both mad. And I am worried... cuz before when humans took away the food nothing good came of it. Nothing.

Oh yeah. And that smells-like-a-cat-cage is in the living room. GoG thought she hid it under a blanket. But we found it.

NO LIKEY! NO LIKEY!!!

=========== UPDATE ===========

OK. It's still weird around here. But I think it's gonna get better. GoG put the kibble back but left that smells-like-a-cat-cage out. The phone rang and she talked to someone about "snow". I don't know what that is.

The sky and trees are really funny today. They look like this:

Maybe the stuff in the sky made the food come back? I don't know for sure, but I think I don't have to worry now. But what IS that cage thing? I'm telling ya, it just bothers me.

Where are the toys?

My humans were bad this weekend.
They took all of the kitty toys off the tree-that-doesn't-smell-like-a-tree.
BAD HUMANS!!
What's a kitty supposed to play with now?
Harrumph.
How shall I punish them?

  1. hork?
  2. "presents" in a tub?
  3. not coming out from under the bed?
  4. not warming GoG's feet while she works?
  5. being mean to T.O.C.?
  6. hiding GoG's slippers?
  7. give them the big ig?
  8. put on my sad face and make them feel guilty?
Heh heh heh...

Friday Five: New Year's Resolutions

Sally from RevGalBlogPals writes:

Well it had to be didn't it, love them or hate them I bet you've been asked about New Year resolutions. So with no more fuss here is this weeks Friday Five;

1. Do you make New Year resolutions?
Well, of course not! I'm a cat, and therefore, I am perfect! But I should have more Greenies, and I need to get more than 12 hours of sleep.

2. Is this something you take seriously, or is it a bit of fun?
I take sleep and Greenies seriously.

3. Share one goal for 2008.
To sleep 14 hours a day.

4. Money is no barrier, share one wild/ impossible dream for 2008
To create my own Cat Mansion for myself, stocked with a life-time supply of Greenies. And of course, I would bring GoG, Bearded Scritcher, String Puller, and String Plucker. Maybe T.O.C.

5. Someone wants to publish a story of your year in 2008, what will the title of that book be?
How to Sleep and Scent a Greenie

Thursday, January 3, 2008 7:51 PM

It. Was. THIS.

It. Was. THIS. THIS thing got the scritchy things in a box. The things that smelled like Food!!! Now I ask you, is that FAIR??? I marked the box and everything. Two chin rubs on each side. Any self-respecting beast knows that this means "MINE MINE MINE MINE ALL MINE."

I must plot my revenge. What do you think?

Hork in a slipper?
"Presents" in the bathtub?"
Paper shredding some of The Harpist's music???

Must consider this carefully. But I am NOT amused.

Hmph.

Cool! TAKE OUT FOR KITTEHS!

GoG brought something home in a box. String Puller Brought it in for me to see.

So I got in closer to really REALLY sniff the box. More scritchety noises. REALLY REALLY great smells!

Forrrrrrrrrrrrrr ME??? I wanted to know. THEN! It REALLY made noises. I JUMPED back.

I don't know zactly what it is. I'm thinking it is a kitteh take-out box. GoG said it was for something else... Not sure what "snake" means... but that's who she said it was for.
I say NOT FAIR NOT FAIR! I was here first!
